What this site collects, why, and how to get rid of it.
There are no accounts here. You cannot log in, so there is no password of yours to leak and no profile of your activity tied to a name. The site collects two things: anonymous-ish analytics on every visit, and your email address if you choose to give it. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The tools, seats and usage you type into it are encoded into the page address so you can share a result — they are not sent to the server, not stored, and not associated with you.
Google Analytics 4, to see which pages are useful.
Google Analytics sets cookies and records the pages you visit, roughly where you are (from your IP address), and what device and browser you used. It is loaded on every page.
Only if you type it in — to send you the thing you asked for.
Entered on the price-alert form, the bill-submission form, or the paid-report form. It is stored so the request can be fulfilled and so you can be contacted about it.
To check a real invoice against the site's estimates.
If you submit a bill, the file (PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF, up to 10 MB) is stored privately, along with the tool name and monthly amount you entered. Nothing else is done with it.
To run a Pro subscription, if you start one.
Handled entirely by Stripe. Card numbers never reach this site's servers or database — the site only ever sees a Stripe customer identifier.
Four service providers process data on the site's behalf, each for one job:
No data is sold. No advertising network or data broker receives it.
Email addresses and uploaded bills stay until they are deleted. There is no automatic expiry, so if you want yours removed, ask — see below. Analytics data is retained on Google Analytics' own schedule, which the site does not control.
Email hello@trulycritic.com and say what you want removed. That covers an email address, an uploaded bill, or both. Deletion requests are actioned, and you will get a reply confirming it. The same address handles any question about this policy.
If you have a Pro subscription, cancelling is handled through Stripe — the link is in your receipt email, or ask at the address above. See the terms. Cancelling does not by itself delete your email address; ask if you want that too.
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits from new ones. Stripe sets cookies during checkout, which it needs to take a payment safely. The site itself sets no cookies of its own.
StartupCost.ai is the service these practices belong to, and it is operated by the same team behind TrulyCritic. Privacy requests go to hello@trulycritic.com.
Written to match what the site actually does. If the site changes what it collects, this page changes with it.
