What goes into an estimate, the formulas we use, and where the limits are.
We compile plan prices, usage limits, and extra fees from vendors' public pricing pages and documentation. Each tool page shows when its pricing was last checked, only when we have recorded that date. Vendors change prices often, so treat every figure as a starting point and confirm it on the vendor's site before you buy.
Prices that are quote-based (“contact sales”) are not something we can know. We do not guess them.
The listed price of the plan, at the monthly or annual-equivalent rate you choose. Per-seat plans are multiplied by your seat count, respecting any minimum seats.
If your usage exceeds a plan's limit and we have a documented overage rate, we charge the excess at that rate. If the limit is a hard cap, we move you to the cheapest plan that fits.
Extra monthly costs that apply when a documented trigger is met (for example, premium apps or add-ons). These are added to the monthly estimate.
Implementation, setup, and similar costs are shown separately. They are never added to a monthly figure.
Hypothetical example (not a real vendor)
A plan lists $20 per seat per month. You enter 5 seats. A documented add-on adds $10/mo, and there is a $500 one-time setup fee.
Monthly estimate = ($20 × 5) + $10 = $110/mo. The $500 setup fee is shown separately as a one-time cost.
Comparison and alternatives pages use each tool's advertised price plus its recurring documented fees, on illustrative default assumptions. We only call one option cheaper when the estimated monthly gap is at least 5%. Tools in different categories are not like-for-like, and those pages say so.
